Pricing
Our prices for self-designed items are calculated in a way that we ideally break even from the tenth unit sold and make a profit from the 11th unit. Sometimes, however, we don't break even until the 15-20th unit, because we have misjudged factors or underestimated the work, number of prototypes and testing and the time invested for this.
60% of the profit is reinvested in our small business to provide you with new and better items, print prototypes and test them extensively, try out new printing materials, etc.
Here's an extract of the factors we take into consideration for our price calculations:
- Quantity of material required in meters for filament (filament prices between 22-85,-€ per kg), or in milliliters for resin (liter prices between 100-2.500,-€)
- Additional material required (screws, magnets, electronic components, etc.) at cost price
- Electricity costs (depending on the printing time and required temperatures)
- Development time and CAD drawing in 5min steps (hour with only 20,-€)
- Working time in 5min steps for post-processing of components, assembly, packaging in 5min (hour only with 20,-€)
- Wear and tear flat rate per print (€2) for spare parts, maintenance, repairs, etc.
- Shipping costs according to the current fees of the providers (currently Hermes 4,90€)
- Packaging flat rate 0,25€
This makes it possible for us to create individual articles on your behalf and to offer them at a small and fair price.
The print files always remain in our possession and are not made available. The articles created in this way will be included in our range for further marketing on our homepage, in the hope of making a profit for our business, by selling more units of the article.
