Step mounting protection profile (set of 4)
These protective rails are placed from the side on the step's retaining bolts and pushed over them with a light hammer blow.
Can be retro-fitted/mounted without disassembly of the step.
The 72 mm long mounting protection profiles come in a set of 4 and are made of high-strength ABS. They prevent the two aluminum plates of the step from giving way during installation of the step, due to uneven tightening of the retaining bolts, so that the step is consequently installed under tension.
A step mounted under strain is one of the three reasons that later lead to the gear rod breaking.
We recommend using these mounting protection profile set when changing/replacing the defective gear rack in order to clamp the step as evenly as possible with the retaining bolts when refitting.
